hello. here to update. let's talk about recent happenings.
i've volunteered myself as part of the organising committee of the BBQ this Friday. planning was a breeze, but collecting of cash just isn't. i was rather fed-up today because of it, but had to stay calm. but my personal message on MSN was, well, maybe a little harsh. i'm sorry because of that. you guys have to know how it feels not having people cooperating with you and must understand when organising things like that, we can't do anything without the cash. i know we ain't seniors or whatever, but, we just need everyone's cooperation to make the BBQ go smoothly. so the process is easy, you guys pay up and relax at the BBQ, and let us worry about the other things, simple! thanks people.
now, let's talk about something else. SINGAPOREANS. we are the worst people ever in Singapore, out own country. let's talk about our actions shall we? we'll start with our dear MRT.
in our MRT stations, there are lines to guide us on where to stand, but some people just don't bother! standing right infront of the doors, trying to squeeze through the alighting passengers so that they can get seats. IT IS VERY IRRITATING! the lines are there so there can be smooth traffic among the alighting and boarding passengers, SO JUST USE IT!
SMRT promoted the 'keep left on escalators' thing few years back. but it seems not everyone is listening! people just get on the escalator, stand anywhere they like, left/right/center, blocking the path of people behind who are rushing to catch a train or whatever. so these rushing people will eventually miss their trains or get late for and interview or something. the right side is for people walking down the escalator, so if you ain't walking or rushing, KEEP TO THE LEFT!
ON THE TRAIN! young lads play around the train, swinging on the pole like pole-dancers, while their parents stand or sit away and mind their own businesses. and you know kids, they hit you, stare, then continue playing! what's worst, the parents do the similar thing! see their children hit you, look at you, then continue with their own stuff. your kids are making so much public nuisance and you as parents ain't going to do anything? that shouldn't be the way. do something! handle the kids!
another thing on the train. i'll just keep this short and sweet. if you are ABLE-BODIED, please give up your seat the those who are not. put yourselves in their shoes and imagine how it feels being, for example, old and weak, and have no place to sit in the train on a long journey home. THINK!
train operators should something about these, maybe the 3rd and 4th problems are harder to deal, but the first 2 better be solved. impose a fine or something! do something to make life easier for those who obey the rules!
