Former President
DR Wee Kim Wee
passed away..
he was regarded as..
the "PEOPLE'S President"..
he is one President that loves to..
in my terms..
"socialise"..
he loves to be around with the civilants..
my brother was one of them he has spoken to..
DR Wee is also a former patron of the St John Ambulance Brigade..
from 1985-1993..
today..

my mum and i went to the Istana to pay respects to DR Wee..
a 1hour long queue from outside the Istana to take a mini-bus in..
but it was worth the wait..
my first time going into the MAIN BUILDING of the Istana..
my second time in the Istana though..
as we walked at the corridor..
we signed on the "CONDOLENCE BOOK"..
then we entered..
as we entered..
we saw a flight of stairs..
leading to the second level of the building..
with a little statue standing right in the middle..
quite cute..

anw..
then we followed the crowd..
went into the room where the casket was..
NO we did not went up the stairs..
it was on the first level..
we had to queue again..
but i was patient..
3rd row..
2nd row..
1st row..
some high rank officer said to us..
"bow when you are ready"
we bowed..
den went up to the platform where the casket was on..
bowed..
again..
then took a look at the face of DR Wee..
the casket was half covered with the National flag..
on top of it laid DR Wee's medals..
no idea what it was..
oh ya..
the platform was a squarish one..
so at each corner, front and back stood an officer..
the parade sword in their hands..
facing down..
heads also bowed down..
nice..
but aniwae..
back to the casket..
i saw DR Wee's face..
skinny..
REAL skinny..
then i closed my eyes and prayed..
prayed that if he isn't a Christian..
may God have mercy on him..
and then..
another officer told us..
"thank you for yout condolences"
got off the platform and went out the building..
then queued up and took the mini-bus back to the entrance..
oh ya..
TOUCH Coummunity Services sent some intellectually disabled peeps there..
so cool..
and ya..
some info..
there were 35 pictures of DR Wee in the OBUTUARIES in the ST today..
posted by different organisations including SJAB..
